"HERE TO LIVE OUT LOUD"
UP CLOSE AND PERSONAL
The French author Émile Zola once said: "If you ask me what I came to do in this world, I, an artist, will answer you: I'm here to live out loud." This quote I ascribe to. You only live one life, and it must be lived to its utmost potential. To me life has to be a celebration. In my life I need fun, I need to give life to children and I have to create art and my art must be loud and noise. It needs to make people stop! The colors, lines, symmetry (and lack thereof) and shapes must interrupt other people's thoughts. What a person thinks when observing my art is hard to impact and that is not my aim either - just as long as people think when viewing my work, I am satisfied.
No place other than at an exhibition, I feel get close enough to my audience to learn how they react to my art. I love to talk with my customers about what they generally experience through art. What do they feel when they are exposed to something abstract or what do they associate with a color or pattern? We are all unique and each of us has our own unique interpretation of "reality". For these reasons it is always inspiring to hear other peoples thoughts regarding an exposition, a piece of art or simply just a small stroke of the pen.
